Into Thin Air: Death On Everest

A great show earlier on Channel 5's Stay Home Saturday Night. Based on an ill-fated 1996 expedition to Mount Everest that claimed at least five lives, the exhilarating adventure is re-created.

The mountain climbers were very clear of the safety measures right from the beginning, however, some of them insisted on getting to the peak even when their oxygen were used up. Perhaps it was due to their arrogance. Despite the deteriorating conditions on the mountain, they risked their lives, as well as their companions'. In the end, the crew had to sacrifice those who would not make it, for their own survival.
